Report on the 2011 Bingo Bugle cruise

Bingo players anxious to go where no Bingo cruiser has gone before did just that during the 23rd Annual World Championship Bingo Tournament & Gaming Cruise.

A sellout crowd set sail on November 10 from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, for eight exceptional days of sea, sun and Bingo fun aboard Carnival Miracle, one of the premier ships of the Carnival Cruise Line fleet.

Ports of call included Grand Turk, a pristine tropical island with some of the most spectacular beaches in the Caribbean; La Romana in the Dominican Republic, whose surrounding waters are rich in marine wildlife, tropical fish and soaring sea birds; Aruba, a charming Dutch island with vibrant outdoor markets, magnificent beaches and lush gardens; and Curaçao, a vibrant, cosmopolitan destination with waterfront shops, cafés and breathtaking natural wonders.

Particularly exciting for new and repeat tournament participants was that every one of these ports was a never-before-visited destination for the Bingo cruise, making the adventure equally exciting for all those on board.

During port stops tournament players took advantage of a wide variety of optional shore excursions and explored the cultural richness and natural beauty of these spectacular Southern Caribbean islands. Shopping and dining opportunities were plentiful, as were land and sea adventures that participants will remember for years to come.

Between ports, players had the opportunity to experience Bingo at its best during the World Championship Bingo Tournament, with guaranteed cash and prizes of $80,000 up for grabs during 60 marathon games of 9-on Bingo played over several days. Along with cash prizes, the player with the highest winnings became the tournament Grand Champion, winning a free cruise for two aboard the Bingo Bugle’s 2012 World Championship Bingo Tournament & Gaming Cruise.

Bingo was far from the only tournament in town. A Texas Hold’em poker tournament with $3,000 in cash prizes was offered, as was the $15,000 Sizzling Slots Tournament, and the Bingo Bugle Blackjack Tournament with thousands of dollars in additional prize money. And that was just what the Bingo Bugle provided. Cruisers also took full advantage of the gaming available in the ship’s beautiful and lively Mr. Lucky’s casino.
